About Our Parish

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton is a Roman Catholic parish within the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis

Sunday, October 1, 2006 marked the dedication of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton's new building addition and the celebration of 150 years of our Catholic faith within the Hastings community.

If a single event from Jesus' life could summarize the witness of our Catholic Church in Hastings, as well as the content of Pope Benedict XVI encyclical letter, God is Love, it would be the example Jesus set in loving his followers. This was first displayed at the night of the Passover and remembered today with a basin and towel.

Through his actions, Jesus prepared us to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit that still inspires us to take up the towel and show the world by our words and actions, "God is Love!"

For the past 150 years in Hastings, each generation of believers has taken up the towel of Jesus to fulfill the statment of his mission that he expressed eloquently the night before he died. As we enter our next 150 years, may we allow Jesus to:

* Wash us in his Baptism

*Comfort us in his Holy Anointing

*Fill us in his Holy Eucharist

*Confirm us in his Holy Spriit

*Marry us in his Love

*Ordain us in his Service

*Reconcile us in his Peace
