Employment Type: Full-Time (40 Hours)Salary: $24 - $27/hr.
Job Summary:
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church is seeking a dynamic, faith-filled Middle School Youth Minister to lead and launch a youth ministry program for grades 6 - 8. The ideal candidate is passionate about evangelizing young people, building authentic relationships, and forming joyful disciples who make Jesus Christ known and loved. This role also includes active involvement in Confirmation preparation, Family Faith Formation (grades 3 - 7), and fostering a strong connection with our parish school by being present on campus.
This full-time position requires a creative, motivated, and collaborative individual ready to accompany middle school youth and their families on their faith journey, while working as part of a parish team committed to discipleship.
Work Schedule:
Sunday: Lead Confirmation classes at 11:15 AM
Wednesday Evening: Middle School Youth Ministry
2 - 3 Days/Week: Presence at parish school (during school hours)
On-site Schedule: Flexible

Statement of Working for the Catholic Church:
Employment in and by the Church is substantially different from secular employment. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the Archdiocese, such that it can embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal. It is required that this employee be a practicing Roman Catholic.
Key Responsibilities:
Middle School Youth Ministry (Grades 6 - 8)
Plan and lead engaging weekly youth nights focused on catechesis, community, and discipleship.
Foster a Christ-centered, welcoming environment that encourages middle schoolers to grow in faith.
Develop small group opportunities and mentor relationships for deeper engagement.
Coordinate and lead at least one annual retreat.
Create opportunities for service, prayer, and fun to help youth become intentional disciples.
Confirmation Preparation (Middle School)
Lead Sunday Confirmation sessions, ensuring they align with Archdiocesan guidelines.
Coordinate retreats, sponsor meetings, and service projects.
Collaborate with families, catechists, and clergy to ensure meaningful preparation and participation.
Family Faith Formation (Grades 3 - 7)
Work with the Director of Apostolic Formation to plan and implement Family Faith Formation.
Work with the Director of Apostolic Formation to develop at-home resources and parent-led activities to reinforce faith in the domestic Church.
Assist in family-oriented events that promote unity and spiritual growth.
School Engagement
Spend 2 - 3 days per week on the school campus to build meaningful relationships with students and staff.
Support the integration of Catholic identity within the school environment.
Participate in school events, Masses, and activities as needed.
Administrative & Collaborative Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Director of Apostolic Formation and Pastor to ensure alignment with parish goals.
Prepare and manage the middle school ministry budget.
Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers and Core Team members.
Maintain consistent communication through email, newsletters, social media, and parish platforms.
Attend parish staff meetings, participate in calendar planning, and support broader parish events.
Ensure compliance with Safe Environment policies including VIRTUS training and background checks.
Qualifications:
A joyful, practicing Catholic who actively participates in the life of the Church.
A clear passion and calling to work with middle school students and their families.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to build relationships and foster community.
Experience in youth ministry, catechesis, or related fields (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in theology, Religious Education, Youth Ministry, or related field (preferred, not required).
Must complete all Safe Environment requirements of the Archdiocese.
